Call and talk to a real person today!
208.277.9717Direct Primary Care removes the insurance middleman and puts the relationship between you and your physician back at the center of medicine.
No more 7-minute visits. We spend 30 to 60 minutes with you at every appointment because understanding you is the foundation of excellent care.
Call, text, or message your doctor directly. No phone trees, no nurse triage. When you need your physician, you reach your physician.
Annual physicals, sick visits, chronic disease management, minor procedures, well-child exams, and women's health — all included in your membership.
One monthly fee. No copays. No surprise bills. No insurance codes dictating what care you can receive. Just straightforward medicine.
We negotiate wholesale pricing on labs and medications, often saving members 50-90% compared to what they would pay through insurance or retail pharmacies.
Because we intentionally limit our practice size, we can see you when you need to be seen — not weeks from now. Your health shouldn't have to wait.
Research consistently shows DPC delivers better outcomes, lower costs, and higher satisfaction for patients and employers alike.
We are board-certified family medicine physicians who provide excellent, patient-centered primary care. We care for whole families, all ages — from newborns to grandparents. We focus on patient education, prevention, and wellness in addition to caring for illness and chronic disease.
We are an independent, physician-led practice. We work directly with you rather than through insurance to reach your health and wellness goals. That means we get to spend more time with you, whenever you need it, without making you navigate the barriers of traditional medicine.
It's like having a doctor in the family.
As a Direct Primary Care practice, we contract directly with our patients through a simple monthly membership. This gives us the freedom to provide the kind of thorough, accessible, relationship-driven care that modern medicine has largely abandoned.
DPC memberships are now HSA-eligible. Use pre-tax dollars from your Health Savings Account to pay for your Polaris membership.
Direct Primary Care is a growing movement returning the focus of medicine to where it belongs — the relationship between doctor and patient.
Two board-certified family medicine physicians and a dedicated medical assistant — a team built on complementary expertise and a shared commitment to the kind of care that changes lives.
Tessa Reinke, MD, FAAFP is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who founded Polaris Medical to provide excellent primary care for all ages, focusing on patient education, wellness, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
She studied Sociology and Public Health at Dartmouth College and completed medical school at the Dartmouth-Geisel School of Medicine. At Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency, she undertook intensive training in women's health and has explored her interest in international medicine through clinics in Kenya, Honduras, and Papua New Guinea.
After residency, Dr. Reinke worked as a full-spectrum family medicine physician in rural eastern Washington and then in North Idaho. She is passionate about proactive, preventative, person-centered healthcare — using food, sleep, and physical movement as tools to improve and maintain health.
Outside of work, Dr. Reinke loves to travel and explore new places with her husband and young children. She enjoys hiking, running, listening to audiobooks, and discovering new recipes.
Dr. Byron Haney is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with over three decades of experience providing full-spectrum primary care to patients of all ages. He studied biochemistry at UC Davis, received his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine, and completed his Family Medicine Residency in Modesto, California.
In 1990, Dr. Haney founded Family Health Care of Ellensburg and grew it into one of the most successful independent primary care practices in Washington State. He served as Chief of Staff and Family Medicine Department Chair at Kittitas Valley Hospital, taught medical students as an Associate Professor of Medicine, and served as a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials.
Dissatisfied with what he terms “rapid substandard healthcare,” Dr. Haney found his passion in Direct Primary Care. In 2019, he converted his practice to a DPC model and rediscovered the joy of truly patient-centered care. After a brief attempt at retirement, he joined Polaris Medical to continue advocating for accessible, relationship-driven medicine.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and his church community.
Jamie joined Polaris Medical in September 2025 and brings nearly a decade of experience in patient-centered healthcare operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and is a licensed, clinically certified medical assistant and a proud member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Before joining Polaris, Jamie worked alongside Dr. Aaron Reinke for almost eight years, developing deep expertise in clinical workflow support, patient communication, and practice operations. Her approach blends strong administrative knowledge with a genuine commitment to empowering both patients and staff.
Outside of work, Jamie enjoys horseback riding, hunting, and life on her hobby farm — complete with horses, chickens, ducks, goats, and dogs.
We thank you for considering us for your primary care needs. At Polaris Medical, we strive to deliver excellent and comprehensive medical care to you and your family, meeting all your preventive, acute and chronic health care needs throughout every stage of life.
— Drs. Reinke & Haney, Polaris Medical
Don't just take our word for it — hear from the families who've made the switch to Direct Primary Care.
"Finally a doctor who really cares and wants to solve the problem. A doctor who doesn't just give a pill to 'bandaid' the problem. Dr. Reinke wants to address the problem, get to the reason of the problem and correct it if possible. She spends time with her patients and is not rushed."
"Dr. Reinke has been instrumental in helping me navigate and treat a chronic health issue. Prior to this, I relied on urgent care when I needed treatment, and I honestly can't imagine going back to that model."
"Excellent care, very knowledgeable and really value they take time, every time. Got to know me right away. Best medical provider care I've ever had in my life!"
"Polaris DPC is hands down the best primary care in the Sandpoint area. Dr. Tessa Reinke takes the time to get to know you, your health history and goals. Her empathetic approach to primary care is a breath of fresh air."
Forward-thinking employers across the country are discovering that Direct Primary Care isn't just better medicine — it's a better investment. By providing your employees with DPC membership, you reduce total healthcare spend while dramatically improving access and satisfaction.
Polaris Medical partners with local employers and organizations to offer DPC as an employee benefit — because the people who keep this community running deserve a doctor who actually knows them.
Your employees deserve better than a plan they can't afford to use. Most small and mid-size businesses are stuck offering high-deductible plans that employees avoid using — or they can't offer benefits at all and lose good people to employers who can. DPC provides your team with meaningful benefits — unlimited visits, direct phone access to their doctor, a provider who knows them by name — at a predictable monthly cost that we guarantee is less than what you're spending now.
Premiums eat into public budgets every year and employees are getting less for their coverage. Municipalities, school districts, and public agencies across the country are discovering that community-built health plans with DPC at the core dramatically cut healthcare spend. Multiple public entities using this strategy have reduced their healthcare budgets by 30–50%. DPC stretches every public dollar further while actually improving the care your people receive.
We'd love to share the case studies behind these results. Reach out to us for more information.

Direct Primary Care is a simpler way to provide and receive healthcare. Instead of billing insurance for every visit, you pay a small monthly membership fee that covers all your primary care visits with us. We contract directly with you — the patient — so our care is not limited by what an insurance company will or won't pay for. It's medicine the way it was meant to be: personal, accessible, and focused entirely on you.
Not quite. Concierge practices typically charge a retainer fee on top of billing your insurance for each visit. Direct Primary Care eliminates the insurance layer entirely for primary care. Your membership fee covers everything, resulting in a simpler, more transparent, and often more affordable model of care.
We recommend maintaining a health insurance plan for specialist visits, hospitalizations, emergency care, and catastrophic coverage. Many of our members pair their Polaris membership with a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) and a Health Savings Account (HSA) — a strategy that often reduces total healthcare costs significantly while providing comprehensive coverage.
Your monthly membership covers virtually all primary care services: annual physicals, all office visits (including acute sick visits), chronic disease management, minor in-office procedures, well-child exams, women's health visits, and after-hours phone access to your physician for urgent concerns. Labs and medications are not included but are available at deeply discounted wholesale rates.
If it's a true emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room. We are not affiliated with any specific hospital system, but we can get your records from any local hospital and help coordinate your care afterwards. If it's something urgent but not life-threatening, call us first — we may be able to see you right away or help you know what to do next. If you need to see a specialist, we can refer you to any hospital or provider and help coordinate your needs with that care provider. As always, we are available to help you navigate the healthcare system.
Absolutely. We offer customizable employer packages for businesses of any size. Employers across the country are discovering that DPC reduces total healthcare spend by 15-30% while dramatically improving employee access and satisfaction. Contact us to discuss how we can tailor a plan for your team.
Yes. As of January 2026, Direct Primary Care memberships qualify as HSA-eligible expenses. This means you can use pre-tax dollars from your Health Savings Account to pay for your Polaris membership, making this premium model of care even more financially accessible.
Under the Direct Primary Care model, we do not bill any insurance plans. If you do have health insurance, you can use it for services like labs, imaging, and visits with specialists. We recommend that you call your insurance to understand what they cover. Not participating in insurance allows us to keep our overhead low, which keeps our prices accessible regardless of your insurance status.
At Polaris Medical, we take the time to get to know you and your health goals. We prioritize easy access to our services, transparent pricing, and the highest quality, whole-person care. Having a primary care physician who knows and cares about you is worth it. Many of our members pair their Polaris membership with a high-deductible health plan for specialist and hospital coverage — often saving money overall while receiving vastly superior primary care.
Our patients can call us for help with a sudden illness or injury, or if they have forgotten their medications when they are out of town. We can help with virtual visits and are sometimes able to order labs and medications remotely. Occasionally, we may advise you to see someone locally in person for more immediate care.
Our physicians have decided against prescribing narcotic and benzodiazepine medications over the long term. They are happy to help you through an acute illness or injury with medications at their discretion, but if the condition persists and becomes chronic, we will refer you to a specialist who is better equipped to manage your long-term, controlled substance needs.
